Une espèce, Armilariella mellea ou Armillaire, cause le Pourridié-Agaric. L'Armillaire vit généralement en saprophyte sur les souches mortes. Il peut devenir parasite en s'attaquent aux racines des arbres forestiers, feuillus et résineux, des arbres fruitiers, de la Vigne, et même de la Rhubarbe. Les arbres atteints dépérissent et meurent plus ou moins rapidement, souvent au printemps peu après le débourrement. Les racines atteintes pourrissent; lorsqu'on les écorce, on constate des lames mycéliennes blanches ou jaunâtres, disposées en éventail. Par ailleurs, le champignon forme des cordonnets noirâtres (rhizomorphes) de 3-4 millimètres de diamètre, qui lui permettent de cheminer dans le sol. 1, record 1, French, - pourridi%C3%A9%2Dagaric
