Standard Beam Modes ... allow imaging over a wide range of incidence angles acquired in seven different modes referred to as S1 to S7. The incidence angles range from 20° at the inner edge of S1, to 49° at the outer edge of S7.

Le mode [...] standard permet l'acquisition d'images sur une grande gamme d'angles d'incidence acquis avec 7 modes différents, de S1 à S7. Les angles d'incidence varient entre 20° à la limite interne du faisceau S1, à 49° à la limite externe du faisceau S7. L'expérience acquise avec RADARSAT-1 a démontré que le mode standard génère des images qui offrent un bon compromis entre la résolution spatiale, la résolution radiométrique et le taux de couverture. Ce type de faisceau sera disponible en co-polarisation, en polarisation croisée, en double-polarisation ou en mode polarimétrique.
