The Committee's mandate: to present and examine problematic terminology cases in the field of marine transport and standardize terms to be used at the federal level, disseminate the recommended terminology and add terms to TERMIUM. The committee includes members of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, Transport Canada, the Canadian Transportation Agency and the Translation Bureau. Established in 2019.

In April 2022, the Marine Terminology Approval Committee (MTAC) changed its name to become the Marine Terminology Standardization Committee (MTSC).

Il est composé de représentants de Pêches et Océans Canada, du Bureau de la sécurité des transports du Canada, de Transports Canada, de l'Office des transports du Canada et du Bureau de la traduction. Mis sur pied en 2019.

En avril 2022, le Comité d'uniformisation de la terminologie maritime (CUTM) a changé de nom pour devenir le Comité de normalisation de la terminologie maritime (CNTM).
