TSAs (tumour-specific antigens) which are defined by their ability to evoke rejection of a tumour in pre-immunized syngeneic hosts are known as tumour-associated transplantation antigens (TATAs). Expression of these functionally defined antigens is a feature of many, if not all, experimental neoplasms.

Un important groupe d'antigènes membranaires est représenté par les antigènes de transplantation associés aux tumeurs (TATAs pour "Tumour-associated Transplantation Antigens"), appelés ainsi parce qu'ils provoquent le rejet de cellules tumorales chez les hôtes syngéniques pré-immunisés.
