La police au voyage. Comme son nom l'indique, elle a pour objet de couvrir les marchandises transportées au cours d'un seul voyage ou pour plusieurs voyages successifs (exemple : terre, mer, air...). Elle convient aux opérateurs qui importent ou exportent des marchandises à titre occasionnel. Les marchandises à transporter, leur valeur et quantité, le nom du moyen de transport (si c'est un navire), les lieux d'embarquement, de transit et de débarquement doivent être préalablement portés à la connaissance de l'assureur.

In so far as ordinary vessels are concerned, as most of them are usually insured under a time policy, voyage insurance is effected only in such cases as delivery voyage of a new vessel to buyer from the shipyard or a voyage of a vessel to be repaired at shipyard. The period of coverage is usually less than a year and the scope of coverage is almost identical to that of time policy.
