1, record 8, French, - analyse%20thermogravim%C3%A9trique

Three methods for determining organic matter are given below. The first is the classical Walkley-Black method .... The third method of estimating soil organic matter, loss of weight on ignition, is included because of hazards associated with the use of Cr2O72-. This ion in a strong acid medium is a powerful oxidant. It is corrosive to skin, mucous membranes, the respiratory tract and the gastrointestinal tract. It may create a cancer risk. Some municipalities restrict the amount of Cr that can be discharged into the sewage system. For these reasons, alternative procedures not involving Cr2O72- have been sought. 1, record 13, English, - loss%20of%20weight%20on%20ignition%20method

The weight loss/time curve ... can be plotted from the amount of water evaporated from a sample of thickened sludge. This curve has two different slope zones; the first is steep and represents the evaporation of the free water, while the second is slightly inclined and reflects the evaporation of the bound water found in the organic micellae. 1, record 16, English, - weight%20loss%2Ftime%20curve

1, record 16, French, - courbe%20perte%20de%20poids%2Dtemps
