Tubage protecteur et couvercle.- En principe, le couvercle et le tubage protecteur n'entrent pas en contact avec l'eau à échantillonner. Ils n'influencent donc pas la composition chimique de l'eau. Il n'y a pas de spécifications particulières quant au type de matériaux à utiliser. La seule restriction dans le choix d'un couvercle est imposée lorsque la tête du puits est installée au niveau du sol. Le couvercle doit être suffisamment étanche et rigide pour prévenir l'infiltration d'eau de surface. La tête du puits d'observation devrait être équipée d'un tubage protecteur cadenassé contre le vandalisme.

OBS

Un couvercle protecteur muni d'un cadenas est ancré dans cette surface cimentée pour protéger le puits d'observation contre tout bris ou vandalisme. Comme la tubulure, le tubage protecteur doit être ventilé afin de prévenir l'accumulation potentielle de gaz explosifs et pour permettre au niveau d'eau dans le puits de suivre les variations de pressions atmosphérique et hydraulique.
