La scie d'encadreur est une scie renforcée de menuisier de dimension petite (25 à 40 cm). Sa lame rectangulaire à denture fine (de 5 à 6 dents au cm) est munie, à l'une de ses extrémités, d'une poignée fermée (closed handle). On l'utilise pour le sciage de précision (fine bench work) à travers les fibres du bois (découpage de queues, exécution de rainures à queues, arasements, etc.). C'est une scie d'assemblage (joining saw).
