Protocole asynchrone très simple qui assure la synchronisation entre l'émetteur et le récepteur.

OBS

Lorsque la mémoire tampon du récepteur arrive à saturation, le récepteur envoie le signal Xoff à l'émetteur, lui demandant ainsi de suspendre la transmission. Dès que la situation le permet, l'envoi du signal Xon permet de poursuivre la procédure en cours.
