Produced for the National Film Board of Canada by Parker Film Associates for Fitness and Amateur Sports of Canada. Your Move is about participation in all kinds of sports by women of all ages. Myths, taboos, conventions of dress, and "proper" behavior have for centuries prevented women from enjoying recreational sport. Accepting society's assumption that physical activity was "unfeminine", women remained the eternal spectators. Women and attitudes are changing, but old myths die hard. When this film was made in 1973, forty-seven percent of Canadian women still ranked in the "low-to-fair" fitness category.
