ZEOLITIC [4 records]

Record 1 2011-05-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mineralogy
  • Petrography
DEF

The typical mineral facies of the burial metamorphism of sediments containing zeolites.

OBS

The critical zeolite of this facies is not just any zeolite but laumontite … which never occurs in unmetamorphosed sediments. Winkler, therefore, more accurately calls the zeolite facies the laumontite-prehnite-quartz facies.

OBS

zeolite facies: term used at Natural Resources Canada - Earth Sciences Sector.

CONT

Les faciès métamorphiques. [...] On distingue [...]

OBS

zeolite cement: term used at Natural Resources Canada - Earth Sciences Sector.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pétrographie
CONT

Record 3 2005-07-12

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mineralogy
CONT

zeolitic ore deposits: Ore deposits, particularly of native copper in basalts, which have zeolites as distinctive, though not necessarily abundant, gangue minerals.

CONT

The ore occurs dominantly as pitchblende and/or coffinite in pore spaces or strongly absorbed by organic material, or weakly absorbed by clays and zeolitic material.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Minéralogie
DEF

Subject field(s)

  • Biomass Energy
CONT

Latex bearing plants of the Euphorbiaceae family usually contain, in addition to rubber, important levels of highly reduced constituents. However the molecular weight of these products is too high to allow for a direct use as fuels and /or feedstocks. We examined the pyrolysis of the latex and of the heptanic extract of Euphorbia tirucalli, a species commonly growing in East Africa. Pyrolyses were carried out under an inert gas flow, in the absence or in the presence of various zeolites. ... The zeolitic catalysts - improve the yield of volatile products from the extract - influence the relative abundance of the volatile constituents of the pyrolysates - strongly increase the hydrocarbon level, especially from latex, in the low and medium volatility fraction.
