[There are four main methods of tobbaco] curing: Flue curing requires a closed building equipped with a system of ventilation and a source of heat. Air curing requires an open framework in which sticks of leaves (or whole plants) are hung, protected from wind and sun. Fire curing employs an enclosed barn similar to that used for flue curing. Small fires are built on the floor, and the leaves cure in a smoke-laden atmosphere. Sun curing is the drying of uncovered sticks or strings of leaf in the Sun.

Reacción de lucha o huida. Se manifiesta cuando el individuo enfrenta un peligro grave, inminente. En esta circunstancia, el cerebro del sujeto inmediatamente envía un mensaje bioquímico(neurotransmisor) que provoca la liberación de catecolaminas : hormonas tales como la adrenalina y la noradrenalina, para dar la señal de alarma al sujeto. Estas catecolaminas provocan la descarga inmediata de grasa y azúcares que vuelcan inmediatamente en su sangre para proveerle una rápida inyección de energía. Aumenta su respiración anticipándose al aumento del requerimiento de oxígeno y para el transporte de ese oxígeno extra se incrementa su presión arterial y frecuencia cardíaca. Cuando pasa el peligro, el organismo vuelve a la normalidad paulatinamente. La respuesta aguda es una reacción natural y necesaria del organismo y que permite la supervivencia.
