Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO), established in 1997, is an association of 20 Labelling Initiatives that promote and market the Fairtrade Certification in their countries. Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) is part of a worldwide network of Fair Trade organizations actively involved in supporting producers, awareness raising and campaigning for changes in the rules and practices of conventional international trade.

The producers that makeup the organizations and cooperatives must also be obtaining a fair price for their coffee, higher than the local middle-men. In some cases financing opportunities are available prior to the harvest.
