La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que "contrarreloj" se escribe preferentemente en una sola palabra y con dos erres cuando funciona como adjetivo (carrera contrarreloj, prueba contrarreloj).
