A succession of strata deposited during a single cycle of deposition.

CONT

Each succession of ... lithologies, called a cyclothem, consists of a series of marine and nonmarine rock units that record a complete cycle of marine invasion and retreat. Geologists have determined, after extensive studies of the Pennsylvanian strata in the Midwest, that an "ideally" complete cyclothem consists of ten sedimentary units.

Transferencia intratubárica de gametos(TIG o GIFT) [...] comienza con los dos mismos pasos que la FIV [fecundación in vitro] inducción de la ovulación y recuperación de óvulos. La diferencia es que los espermatozoides y los óvulos son colocados directamente en las trompas de Falopio durante una laparoscopía [procedimiento quirúrgico menor en el abdomen], en vez de fertilizarse en el laboratorio. Si la fertilización es exitosa, el óvulo viaja al útero, exactamente igual que en un ciclo natural.
