A type of microscopic body occurring in such glassy igneous rocks as obsidian and pitchstone. 2, record 1, English, - crystallite
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Crystallites are regarded as incipient or embryonic crystals, though they often have no recognizable crystallographic form and are too small to polarize light. They occur when magma (molten rock material) congeals so rapidly that crystallization remains incomplete. Crystallites are distinguished from microlites, which are slightly larger forms recognizable as mineral species. 2, record 1, English, - crystallite

Phase transitions. ... Discontinuous transitions involve a discontinuous change in the entropy at the transition temperature. A familiar example of this type of transition is the freezing of water into ice. As water reaches the freezing point, order develops without any change in temperature. Thus there is a dicontinuous decrease in the entropy at the freezing point. 1, record 2, English, - first%2Dorder%20transition

Integral high-test molasses is produced from unclarified sugarcane juice which has been partially inverted to prevent crystallization, then concentrated by evaporation until approximately 80% of DM [dry matter] content. Roche sédimentaire clastique, composée de grains de quartz intimement cimentés. 7, record 20, French, - orthoquartzite
Record number: 20, Textual support number: 1 CONT

3, record 20, Spanish, - cuarcita

Raw sugar is light brown and slightly sticky because the crystals have a thin film of molasses clinging to them. Refining removes this film and produces white crystals of sugar. First the raw sugar is rinsed of its brownish film. Then the crystals are dissolved in water and the liquid is filtered to remove impurities. The sugar is then crystallized, and the crystals are separated from the liquid by centrifuges and dried in hot air. The liquid must be centrifuged several times. Other methods of refining involve the use of milk of lime, carbon dioxide, and repeated boiling. The refined crystals are classified and stored in bins to be packaged or sent to market. 2, record 21, English, - refining
