Espigazón. Presenta dos etapas : la primera se caracteriza por la forma y dimensión que alcanza la espiga; en ella empiezan a verse las barbas. Luego aparece la espiga fuera del zurrón y después la espiga va adquiriendo una tonalidad verde intensa, va perdiendo progresivamente humedad y en la última parte de ésta primera etapa ya está completamente formada. En la segunda etapa las anteras salen al exterior, la espiguilla se vuelve a cerrar y los granos de cebada quedan vestidos.
