Pourquoi le photon de l'électromagnétique a-t-il une masse nulle, alors que les bosons de la force faible ont des masses considérables? Selon le physicien écossais Peter Higgs les particules acquièrent de la masse en interagissant avec un boson très spécial (le boson de Higgs), comme des morceaux de papier buvard «acquièrent» de l'encre.
