plusmarquista; hombre récord; mujer récord: La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que los términos "plusmarquista", en disciplinas atléticas, y "hombre récord" o "mujer récord", en general, son alternativas en español a "recordman" y "recordwoman". Se aprecia un matiz distintivo entre "plusmarquista" y "hombre récord": mientras que "plusmarquista" es aquel que consigue la mejor marca en una prueba única, "hombre récord" se emplea para referirse al deportista que alcanza una mejor marca en el cómputo global de varias competiciones. Así, un nadador es "plusmarquista" si bate el récord en una carrera, pero es "hombre récord" si es quien más medallas de oro ha acumulado, por ejemplo, a lo largo de varios Juegos Olímpicos.

A tennis court made of grass and known for its fast surface.

For play the grass is cut short, lower than two inches, and has the appearance of a golf green, although a grass court must be much sturdier to resist running and sliding. Because the bounce is low and the ball skids and skips, the grass-court game is extremely fast, favoring an attacking player with strong serve and volley who gets to the net quickly. This contrasts widely with the clay-court game and its premium on base-line play.

Esto puede originar que jugadores muy duchos en las pistas de tierra batida tengan grandes problemas para desarrollar un tenis parecido en las pistas de hierba.
