La reproducción en los eriófidos es semejante a la de los tetraníquidos, es decir, por partenogénesis arrenotoca: los machos son haploides y proceden de huevos no fecundados, mientras que las hembras son diploides. La fertilización tiene lugar por espermatóforos abandonados por el macho sobre el sustrato en que viven, y recogidos por la hembra.
