A procedure using graft material (acellular dermal graft) derived from donated human dermal tissue; used in reconstructive plastic, dental, and burn surgery. 2, record 2, English, - AlloDerm
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
AlloDerm is made from donated human skin. It is handled in much the same way as other transplantable organs. The tissue is processed to remove cells that might cause the body to reject the foreign tissue or react negatively to it. What's left is the collagen structure (fiber-like proteins) and other proteins naturally found in skin. This structure acts as a frame for tissue to grow into and around. 3, record 2, English, - AlloDerm

1, record 2, French, - AlloDerm

A dermal matrix graft harvested from [donor or] cadaver skin and processed with the epidermis and dermal cells removed. 4, record 3, English, - acellular%20dermal%20graft
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The acellular dermal graft is processed from human donor skin obtained from approved tissue banks. In processing, the epidermis is removed, and the remaining dermal layer is washed in detergent solutions to remove cellular components. After the tissue has been decellularized, the acellular collagen matrix is then cryoprotected and rapidly freeze-dried by a patented process to preserve biochemical and structural integrity. This packaged acellular dermis can be stored under refrigeration for at least 2 years. Rehydration of the freeze-dried dermis for a minimum of 10 minutes in physiologic saline using a normal sterile procedure yields a pliable collagen template for cell repopulation. 5, record 3, English, - acellular%20dermal%20graft

Cultured cells are infused in a biodegradable or non-biodegradable scaffold, which may be implanted directly in the patient, or may be placed in a bioreactor (in-vitro) to allow the cells to proliferate before the tissue is implanted in the patient. Alternatively, the cell-seeded scaffold may be directly implanted, in which case the patient's body acts as an in-vivo bioreactor. Once implanted, in-vivo cellular proliferation and, in the case of absorbable scaffolds, concomitant bio-absorption of the scaffold, proceeds. 3, record 4, English, - scaffold
