L'électricité ne se stocke pas. EDF [Électricité de France] doit donc à tout moment faire face à la demande en électricité de ses clients. Un dispatching (centre de répartition) national et sept dispatchings régionaux veillent en temps réel à l'équilibre entre production et consommation ainsi qu'à la continuité et à la qualité de la fourniture d'électricité. Ce sont eux qui font appel aux différentes centrales d'EDF en fonction de leur coût de production, mais aussi par exemple des stocks d'eau disponibles dans les barrages. Ces dispatchings sont également chargés de faire face à d'éventuelles pannes sur le réseau électrique.

Vérification MODULO-10. Méthode de vérification. Prenons à titre d'exemple, le NAS suivant : 127972438. 1. Additionnez les 1er, 3e, numéro d'assurance sociale, 5e, 7e et 9e chiffres. 2. Doublez, puis additionnez les autres chiffres. Si le résultat obtenu en doublant un chiffre est supérieur à 9, additionnez les deux chiffres du produit de la multiplication, p. ex. 2 x 9 = 18, alors 1 + 8 = 9. 3. Additionnez les résultats obtenus aux étapes 1 et 2, c.-à-d. 27 + 23 = 50. 4. La somme obtenue doit être un multiple de 10. Si ce n'est pas le cas, le numéro d'assurance sociale NAS est erroné et il faut déterminer le bon numéro.
