More or less bright blue coloration of a clear sky, caused by selective scattering of the solar radiation by the molecules of the air (Rayleigh's Law). The blue light is scattered more than the light at longer wavelengths. 2, record 1, English, - blue%20of%20the%20sky

1, record 1, Spanish, - azul%20del%20cielo

Atmospheric scattering produced by spherical particles which are small, less than about one tenth of the wavelength of the incident radiation. 1, record 2, English, - Rayleigh%20scattering
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Rayleigh scattering of sunlight from particles in the atmosphere is the reason why the light from the sky is blue. The amount of Rayleigh scattering that occurs to a beam of light is dependent upon the size of the particles and the wavelength of the light; in particular, the scattering coefficient, and hence the intensity of the scattered light, varies inversely with the fourth power of the wavelength, a relation known as the Rayleigh law. 3, record 2, English, - Rayleigh%20scattering

2, record 2, French, - diffusion%20de%20Rayleigh
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 2, French, - diffusion%20de%20Rayleigh
