OBS

Animal fibers come from animal hair (wool) or insect secretions (silk). Plant fibers are extracted from grain (cotton), fruit (coconut), leaves (sisal hemp, raffia), stems (flax, hemp), or from sap (natural rubber). Mineral fibers are completely natural (asbestos) or are made from rock, ore, alloys or glass.

Defiende su consumo contra la competencia de los sintéticos, para lo cual fomenta la investigación de las aplicaciones del yute natural. Administra el "Convenio Internacional del Yute", que entró en vigor provisionalmente en 1984 y, con carácter definitivo, en 1986. Su sede está en Dhaka, Bangladesh.

FOS ... is used as a sweetening agent, flavor enhancer, bulking agent, and humectant. As a low-calorie sucrose-replacement, FOS is used in cookies, cakes, breads, candies, dairy products, and some beverages. FOS is also added to some Japanese health foods to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.

Son edulcorantes, por lo que tienen buenas propiedades organolépticas (aquellas que se aprecian por los sentidos) y se pueden incorporar fácilmente a alimentos.
