Accident de Lilo : une étude allemande revient sur le cas de deux militaires géorgiens. Ces deux patients font partie d'un groupe de soldats ayant reçu en 1997 une irradiation accidentelle liée à des sources abandonnées. Selon les observations qui précédent, le terme «exposition» serait préférable à celui de «contamination». À notre avis ce ne sont pas de parfaits synonymes, le premier étant la cause et le second le résultat. De plus, le terme «contamination» est bien attesté dans le domaine de la radioprotection. En outre, d'autres auteurs sembleraient vouloir réserver le terme «irradiation» pour les cas où la source de rayonnements est à l'extérieur de l'organisme, par opposition à «contamination» pour les cas où la source est à l'intérieur, ce que l'usage semble refléter.
