Según el "Diccionario Filatélico y Postal Ilustrado", de José Gilberto Gómez Cabrera [...], algunos otros papeles utilizados en la filatelia son [el] papel estucado :papel tratado con una capa de una sustancia parecida al yeso, muy satinado y barnizado, que se emplea principalmente en grabados o fotograbados. Se utilizaba como medio de seguridad, ya que, al tratar de borrar una cancelación o matasellos que se ponía sobre el timbre impreso en este tipo de papel, se destruía la impresión del dibujo. También se le conoce como papel cuché.

OBS

La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, recomienda evitar la expresión "papel couché" y utilizar en su lugar la forma hispanizada "papel cuché".
