Es muy utilizado este efecto por los jugadores para controlar la pelota y para darle potencia al golpe sin que salga de la pista. La pelota liftada se golpea de abajo arriba.

Balle à laquelle on imprime une rotation du dessus vers le dessous produite en frappant de bas en haut «à travers» la balle. Il en résulte que la balle tourne dans le sens de sa course et rebondit alors rapidement et loin. C'est la rotation employée dans la plupart des coups de base.

OBS

Il y a une nuance entre «balle liftée» et «balle top spinée». Étudiez l'explication suivante : Balle liftée : ralentie, trajectoire sécurisante passant largement au-dessus du filet et qui retombe plus sûrement dans le court, rebond haut [...] balle top-spinée : ralentie, comme le lift mais avec une trajectoire descendante et un rebond très bas. De plus, pour produire une balle top spinée, la préparation se fait plus haut (au niveau des épaules) par rapport à la balle liftée. Lifté : anglicisme accepté dans le monde du tennis.
