Nappe (d'eau souterraine). Eaux souterraines remplissant entièrement les interstices d'un terrain poreux et perméable (l'aquifère) de telle sorte qu'il y ait toujours liaison par l'eau entre les pores. Une nappe se forme par accumulation des eaux d'infiltration au-dessus d'un terrain imperméable qui interdit leur progression vers le bas. L'eau remplit par gravité toutes les cavités accessibles du terrain jusqu'à un niveau appelé surface de la nappe.
