Teoría general : forma abreviada de hacer referencia a la obra cumbre de J. M. Keynes. Publicada en 1936 con el título de "teoría general de la ocupación, el interés y el dinero", constitutiva de una serie crítica a la Escuela Neoclásica que presumía el equilibrio del sistema en régimen de pleno empleo. Cuando lo normal, según Keynes, es el paro y las posibilidades de depresión(como la que se daba a escala mundial cuando publicó su libro), frente a la cual sólo cabe combatir con inversiones, aunque sea sobre la base de la financiación con déficit.
