A favorite essentially has the same meaning as a bookmark, but the terms "favorite" and "bookmark" are usually not used interchangeably. Some browsers prefer one term over the other, and some use both terms with a few nuances in meaning.

Un favori est essentiellement la même notion qu'un signet, mais les termes «favori» et «signet» ne sont habituellement pas utilisés de façon interchangeable. Certains navigateurs n'utilisent que l'un des deux termes, tandis que d'autres utilisent les deux termes en leur accordant quelques nuances sémantiques.

favorito: La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que "favorito" o "marcador" [...] designan a un enlace fijo a una página web preferida o que consultamos con frecuencia y que se encuentra guardada en el navegador. Conviene señalar, además, que la convivencia de ["favorito" y "marcador"] se debe, en gran medida, a una decisión comercial. Microsoft decidió utilizar el término "favoritos" (en inglés, "favorites") en su conocido navegador web (Internet Explorer); sin embargo, otros navegadores, como Chrome o Firefox, prefieren usar el término "marcadores" (en inglés, "bookmarks"; literalmente "marcapáginas").
