Record 1 2014-12-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Plastics Manufacturing
  • Rheology
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Pulp Preparation (papermaking)
CONT

The limiting viscosity number is usually estimated by determining the viscosity number at several low concentrations (c) and extrapolating the value to c = 0.

PHR

Polymer intrinsic viscosity.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Plasturgie
  • Rhéologie
  • Chimie analytique
  • Préparation de la pâte à papier
CONT

L'indice limite de viscosité est en général estimé en déterminant l'indice de viscosité pour plusieurs concentrations (c) faibles et en extrapolant les valeurs pour c = 0.

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Fabricación de plásticos
  • Reología
  • Química analítica
  • Preparación de la pasta (fabricación de papel)
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics (Physics)
  • Hydrology and Hydrography
DEF

A unit of measure of permeability, the ease with which a rock can transmit fluids.

CONT

A porous medium has a permeability of 1 darcy when a pressure of 1 atmosphere on a sample 1 cm long and 1 cm² of cross section will force a liquid of 1-centipoise viscosity through the sample at the rate of 1 cm³ per second.

OBS

The permeability of reservoir rocks is usually of such small magnitude that it must be measured in millidarcies (1/1,000 darcy).

Key term(s)
  • darcies

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Mecánica de fluidos e hidráulica (Física)
  • Hidrología e hidrografía
DEF
