Conformations are described as synperiplanar (sp), synclinal (sc), anticlinal (ac), or antiperiplanar (ap) according as the torsion angle is within ±30° of 0°, ±60°, ±120°, or ±180°, respectively: the letters in parentheses are the corresponding abbreviations.
