Situated in the heart of the nation's capital across Confederation Square from Parliament Hill, the [National Arts] Centre is among the largest performing arts complexes in Canada. It is unique as the only multidisciplinary, bilingual performing arts centre in North America and features one of the largest stages on the continent. Officially opened on June 2, 1969, the National Arts Centre was one of the key institutions created by Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson as the principal centennial project of the federal government.

Implanté au cœur de la capitale nationale, en face de la place de la Confédération et de la colline du Parlement, le Centre [national des Arts (CNA)] compte parmi les plus grands complexes des arts de la scène au Canada. Le CNA est le seul centre pluridisciplinaire et bilingue des arts de la scène en Amérique du Nord et il dispose d'une des plus grandes scènes du continent. Inauguré officiellement le 2 juin 1969, le Centre national des Arts est l'une des grandes institutions créées par le gouvernement fédéral à l'initiative du premier ministre Lester B. Pearson pour souligner le centenaire de la Confédération.
