The Royal Centre for Remote Sensing (CRTS) is the national institution responsible for the promotion, use and development of remote sensing applications in Morocco. CRTS coordinates and carries out the national program of remote sensing in collaboration with ministerial departments, private operators and universities. CRTS uses operational systems to collect, produce and analyze data from Earth observation satellites and other sources. It also runs the national archiving facilities. CRTS develops applications and methods in space technologies and related disciplines (remote sensing, GIS, positioning, telecommunications, ...) Créé par décret en décembre 1989, le CRTS a été mandaté pour promouvoir l'exploitation et le développement des applications de la télédétection au Maroc. Le CRTS coordonne et réalise le programme national en télédétection en collaboration avec les départements ministériels, les opérateurs privés et les universités marocaines. Le CRTS est responsable de l'acquisition, l'archivage et la diffusion des données et images, de l'observation de la Terre, de la réalisation des projets et du développement de méthodologies en Télédétection et Systèmes d'Information Géographique et domaines connexes.
