Mitochondria are one of the most sensitive indicators of injury to the cell.... Essentially there are three types of change: (1) fragmentation into granules, followed by lysis and dispersion, (2) intense swelling with transformation into large vacuoles, and (3) a great accumulation of materials with transformation of mitochondria into hyalin granules. This last change is characteristic of the so-called cloudy swelling and hyalin degeneration that frequently results in cellular death. 3, record 2, English, - lysis

3, record 2, French, - lyse
