Pied plat apparaissant soit comme la persistance d'un pied plat de l'enfance, soit secondaire à une maladie infectieuse, inflammatoire, neurologique ou traumatique, soit primitif à l'occasion d'une grossesse, d'une obésité, d'un alitement prolongé ou d'un autre facteur déclenchant. A l'examen, le pied plat est souvent peu réductible, enraidi par des articulations arthrosiques du tarse. Le pied plat est global, longitudinal et transversal.
