The Education and Training Programme provides the path of future progress by promoting all efforts in Member countries to ensuring that the necessary body of trained meteorologists, hydrologists, engineers and technicians is available to carry out national and international programmes in meteorology and operational hydrology. Major thrusts of the Programme are directed towards capacity building for sustainable development and towards increasing capability in using the results of applications of new technology.
