The World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and currently coordinates the reporting of glaciers and mass balance studies across the world (including those in Canada). It maintains a database called the The World Glacier Inventory, which contains data for nearly 70,000 glaciers. Le Service de surveillance mondial des glaciers (WGMS) est établi à Zurich (Suisse) et coordonne actuellement la communication de rapports d'études sur les glaciers sur le bilan massique dans le monde entier (y compris les glaciers du Canada). Il gère une base de données, nommée Inventaire mondial des glaciers, qui contient des données sur près de 70 000 glaciers.
