Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is responsible for protecting human health and the environment by minimizing the risks associated with pest control products. The Agency carries out its responsibility by: evaluating pesticides to ensure they meet the latest human health environmental safety standards before being registered for use in Canada; re-evaluating older pesticides to ensure they remain acceptable for use based on the latest standards; and setting the safe residue levels for pesticides in food.

L'Agence de réglementation de la lutte antiparasitaire (ARLA) est responsable de protéger la santé humaine et l'environnement en minimisant les risques présentés par les produits antiparasitaires. L'Agence assume ses responsabilités en : évaluant les pesticides afin de s'assurer qu'ils respectent les normes les plus récentes de sécurité pour la santé et pour l'environnement; réévaluant les pesticides plus anciens afin de s'assurer que leur utilisation demeure acceptable selon les normes les plus récentes; établissant des niveaux de résidus sécuritaires pour les pesticides dans l'alimentation.
