El "Diccionario panhispánico de dudas" (DPD), indica que la voz inglesa "bacon" ('panceta ahumada') se ha adaptado al español en las formas "beicon" —que adapta la grafía a la pronunciación inglesa original— y "bacón" —que conserva la grafía original, con pronunciación a la española [...] La forma "beicon" es hoy mayoritaria y, por ello, preferible.
