La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, recomienda que "sicav", acrónimo de "sociedad de inversión de capital variable", se escriba con letras minúsculas dado que ha entrado a formar parte de la lengua general y que se emplea como un sustantivo común. Su plural es "sicavs".
