The WBCSD Latin American Chapter participates in the study, analysis and solution of problems related to sustainable development in Latin America, as well as the promotion of education and training for the regional business sector. The WBCSD Latin American Chapter is also involved in the implementation of specific programs and projects on sustainable development and eco-efficiency. It interacts with the public, private and academic sectors, non-governmental (NGOs) and intergovernmental organizations, and mass media in order to promote sustainable development.

Contrairement à une idée répandue, une lecture laser n'implique pas forcément des données numériques. Ainsi, le vidéodisque est-il lu par laser, mais les données sont stockées sous forme analogique en ce qui concerne les images. Le son est par contre souvent stocké sous forme numérique. [...] L'accès à l'image peut ainsi se faire par son numéro ou son groupe [chapitre]. Les disques sont généralement enregistrés sur les deux faces, avec une capacité d'une heure d'images vidéo par face pour un disque de 30 cm (mode CLV).

Un titre est une application multimédia. Un titre peut être divisé en différentes parties, les livres, eux-mêmes divisés en chapitres. Ainsi, le titre "Bookshelf '91" de Microsoft est divisé en sept livres (un atlas, une encyclopédie, un almanach, etc.) eux-mêmes divisés en chapitres quand c'est nécessaire. Un titre axé sur un sujet unique (par exemple : "la vache") peut ne comprendre qu'un seul livre, mais il sera structuré en chapitres.
