Au Québec, «personnel électoral» comprend, les directeurs et les secrétaires du scrutin, les recenseurs, les réviseurs, les secrétaires de la commission de révision, les scrutateurs et les secrétaires du bureau de vote. Forme fautive : «officiers d'élection». On fait, au Québec, un usage abusif du mot officier [...] En termes de droit, le mot officier désigne le titulaire d'un office, c'est-à-dire d'une fonction publique conférée à vie. Il ne faut pas confondre cette acceptation avec celles de fonctionnaire, d'agent ou de dirigeant que l'on donne à tort au mot officier.
