Created in 1995, it is a network of senior wildlife enforcement officials from Canada, Mexico and the United States. It has focused on improving North American capacity to enforce laws regulating the sustainable use and conservation of our wildlife, particularly with respect to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Créé en 1995, le NAWEG constitue un réseau de hauts fonctionnaires chargés d'appliquer les lois sur les espèces sauvages au Canada, au Mexique et aux États-Unis. Ses activités ont visé à renforcer les capacités nord-américaines d'application des lois régissant l'utilisation durable et la conservation des espèces sauvages, notamment les dispositions de la Convention sur le commerce international des espèces de faune et de flore sauvages menacées d'extinction (CITES).
