Le PAJLO, qui s'appelait voilà peu le «Programme national de l'administration de la justice dans les deux langues officielles», est devenu tout récemment «Promotion de l'accès à la justice dans les deux langues officielles». Par ailleurs, les activités de l'ancien PAJLO, en particulier les activités de normalisation et de jurilinguistique, ont été intégrées au Fonds d'appui à l'accès à la justice dans les deux langues officielles, un nouveau programme créé par Justice Canada dans le cadre du Plan d'action pour les langues officielles du gouvernement. À la demande générale, nous avons conservé l'acronyme PAJLO et lui avons donné une nouvelle signification et une nouvelle portée. PAJLO comprend désormais trois composantes : le Fonds d'appui à l'accès à la justice dans les deux langues officielles, le mécanisme de consultation (Groupe fpt et sous-comité consultatif sur l'accès à la justice dans les deux langues officielles) et la normalisation du vocabulaire français de la common law.
