On beech leaves you will often come across elongate, lemon-shaped structures, which are at first green and later turn yellow or red; there are usually several on one leaf. These are galls whose formation is induced by the female Beech Gall-midge (Mikiola fagi) and each contains a developing larva. The tiny imago flies very early in the spring .... 1, record 1, English, - beech%20gall%2Dmidge

1, record 1, French, - galle%20du%20h%C3%AAtre
