The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the United States Customs Service, and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service will design NEXUS-Air to facilitate passage into Canada and the United States for pre-approved, low-risk, frequent air travellers using automated kiosks with iris-recognition biometric technology. Members of the NEXUS-Air program will enter Canada or the United States without further interaction with customs or immigration officials unless selected randomly for inspection.

L'Agence des douanes et du revenu du Canada (ADRC) travaillera au projet NEXUS-Aérien en collaboration avec Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada, le United States Customs Service et le United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. Grâce à la technologie biométrique de lecture d'empreintes rétiniennes, le programme facilitera l'entrée au Canada et aux États-Unis des grands voyageurs préautorisés présentant un faible risque. Les participants au projet NEXUS-Aérien entreront au Canada ou aux États-Unis sans autre contact avec les fonctionnaires des douanes ou de l'immigration, à moins qu'ils aient été sélectionnés au hasard pour un examen.
