L'évolution de la structure des enzymes a suivi bien des chemins, mais ils sont tous marqués par un point commun : quand une structure est efficace, elle est conservée. Et, apparemment, il n'y a pas une multitude de conformations qui permette à un site protéique d'être "actif" pour une fonction donnée, ce qui fait que le résultat final de l'évolution est le même, quelque soit le point de départ.
