The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) through a CAD$25 million technical assistance program is financing The Regional Electrical Energy Project in the Central American Isthmus Countries (PREEICA), which assists Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in the practical implementation of reforms. These reforms intend to improve efficiency in the electricity sub sector, increase private sector participation, improve predictability and equity in the supply of electricity, and take advantage of the benefits resulting from regional cooperation in the exchange of electricity.

Avec un programme d'aide technique d'une valeur de 25 millions $CAN, l'Agence canadienne de développement international (ACDI) finance le Projet régional d'électricité pour l'Amérique centrale (PREEICA), qui aide le Guatemala, le Salvador, le Honduras, le Nicaragua, le Costa Rica et le Panama à la mise en œuvre pratique de réformes. Ces réformes ont pour but d'améliorer l'efficacité dans le sous-secteur de l'électricité, d'augmenter la participation du secteur privé, d'améliorer la prévisibilité et l'équité dans l'apport d'électricité et de profiter des avantages de la coopération régionale dans l'échange d'électricité.
