AMMIS: Automated Material Management Information System.

The AMMIS User Management Group (AUMG) is one of the most successful Cluster groups in the Federal Government. The AUMG has developed a technology tool in AMMIS that provides departmental Materiel Management personnel with a means of delivering value added service to their clients while improving their relationships and resulting service levels with external suppliers. In keeping with the principles espoused in the Blueprint for Renewing Government Service, the result is a process that capitalizes on the strength and experiences of public sector employees while reducing the paper burden long associated with non-automated processes. AMMIS provides clients with a solid foundation on which to base their future E-Business capabilities.

Le Groupe de gestion des utilisateurs AMMIS (GGUA) est l'un des groupes de concertation du gouvernement fédéral qui a le plus de succès. AMMIS, v. 3.0. Endorsed as a Shared System for use in federal departments by the [chief information officer] of TBS [Treasury Board Secretariat], the Automated Materiel Management Information System (also known as AMMIS or WinAMMIS) is a Crown owned, Windows based, fully integrated software tool for the complete materiel management lifecycle. The system is designed to automate centralized or decentralized processes. It allows departmental Responsibility Centre staff to electronically initiate procurement orders, commit funds, make payments, receive goods and services, and control assets and inventory.
